Class III
Today I saw my Class III patient again which happen to also be my denture patient :) It was so frustrating though, so I cleaned the whole lower arch since there weren't very many teeth, got my scale check and missed like 1 spot! So I went ahead and started the upper arch and it took so long for my instructor to come do another check that I got through the whole arch going as fast as I could and when she came to see if I was done she says to me "you did the whole arch?" I said "yeah I want as fast as I could" and she has the nerve to say " thats what I was afraid of.." in front of my patient! Making me look like I have no idea what I'm doing. Then she goes on to say I missed like 7 spot so I go back and do the spots she said and she comes to check again and says oh no it told you wrong it wasn't there it was on this surface instead. Oh I'm so Mad I could just scream at her and not feel bad. I know I gave her the look of keep talking if you want to get punched in the face! cause after my patient left she was saying to me how I did such a good job and he was a really difficult case. BAH! Seriously?! today needed to be over before it started but at least I finished my Class III!

The ultra lab..
today we didn't have any patients we had a lab learning how to clean a denture and take Blood glucose. Not really a fan of the cleaning denture its pretty basic. how ever the blood glucose was a little entertaining, trying to stick your own finger is a little nerve racking, so me being the wimp that I am had someone else do it. But all is well I honestly don't know how diabetics do that multiple times a day. How miserable. Thanks goodness I already have a patient I can pass off that pe on.

WORD.....hahaha
Ok so last week I saw this patient that I was not expecting to look the way he did when compared to his voice. Super nice but I mean his hair was longer than mine! It was so funny when I called to set up the appointment for today he answered and I told him who I was and he was like "Word", he just kept saying it. I haven't heard someone talk like that in ages! It took all I had to not start laughing on the phone. But thank goodness I finished him and got another 1B down! Cheers to actually getting somewhere with requirements! I might actually make it, and I feel some what successful today.

A1c? Whats that?
So today I had my first patient that was diabetic. Holy cow there is a ton of information you have to ask when they have diabetes! So I started into the routine questions and when I asked what his A1C was he says " whats that?" Oh my goodness where do I go from there. So come to find out when ever he gets it checked with his doctor they never call and tell him and he has never bothered to call and find out. But we made it through and what a trooper! I am so blessed to have family members that are so willing to help me with my school requirements. Also after working on him I found out that we have to pass off a blood glucose pe on a patient so what better person to do it on than him! I will have to make sure I reschedule him for after we have learned the pe in clinic. Though I only made it through an OD, I feel like I'm making some progress!

Flappin' in the wind
Ok so I just have to say that Amanda thanks for the class III/ denture patient but holy cow was it a very difficult case. I hardly made it through OD today and even then I was so frazzled that I completely forgot to write a statusrx anywhere on the chart at all, and I forgot to chart mobility and such. Rough day. I'm a bit worried to bring him back, and though it was a tough case he was very kind and patient with me. I couldn't have asked for a more kind patient. Thank goodness today is over!
